Logan Herrington
Technology Consulting Intern
Client: Austin Regional Clinic (ARC)
My summer internship with AAG was far and away the most rewarding job I have ever had. When I began my role, I had very little technical experience, but by the end I was working on a database architecture project that was more advanced than any undergraduate class would offer. Now, I am comfortable with most intermediate level SQL interviews and have talked about my time at AAG extensively in all my interviews during my senior year. The project I worked on was really cool because I got to see first-hand how a quality data warehouse could improve the analytical capabilities of Austin Regional Clinic.
Even though my internship was only for the summer, Ajay was able to contextualize how every task my colleague and I completed played into the bigger picture of the project as a whole. That is a really important advantage to have in future job interviews. To not only say what you did, but why it mattered is really valuable.
Ajay is equal parts boss and mentor and I have enjoyed staying in contact with him since completing my internship. My senior year of college posed some tough questions with regards to career moves, but Ajay was able to provide a lot of valuable insight on how to proceed. My work with AAG played a huge role in giving me the skills I need to move into the job I will start after graduation.
