Madison (Madi) Gwynn
Data Analytics Intern
Client: Austin Regional Clinic (ARC)
After hearing from a close friend about her experience with AAG, I was excited to get the opportunity to work with AAG and learn more about data analytics and management. At the start of my internship, I did not have any background in healthcare. With the support of Ajay, fellow interns, and our client, I quickly gained a better understanding of the industry and how the Healthcare Quality Measures project was benefiting Austin Regional Clinic (ARC).
Joining the project midway, Ajay and other interns helped me understand the new data architecture they developed for our client. However, new requirements arose from our client that led to changes to the data architecture. I had the opportunity to create procedures for the new data load process and documentation for our client. Before the project ended, I was able to present my documentation and data load process to co-workers at ARC.
This internship challenged my communication, development, and creativity skills. Through these challenges, Ajay always encouraged me to ask questions about the project and data analytics in general. My advice for future interns is to take plenty of notes and attempt to anticipate your team and client needs. Developing these two skills will drastically increase your success in any internship.
